As prime fall foliage season begins, the Essex Resort & Spa, a AAA 4-Diamond property in Vermont, offers a $459 two-night package for two ($230 per person) that includes over $300 in extras, valid Sunday-Thursday Sept. 20 - Nov. 26.

This package works out to be less than the regular price of the room alone for select dates, and includes the following:

• Two nights in an upgraded Traditional room with a fireplace, based on availability at check-in (a $20 value)
• Choice of two 50-minute Swedish massages or two Chef In Training cooking classes (or one of each) ($220 value)  
• Fresh Start continental breakfast for two daily (a $28 value)
• A two-for-one dinner at Butler’s Restaurant, winner of Wine Spectator's Award of Excellence since 2004 (a $50 value)
• One in-room movie per stay (a $16 value)

Bonus: Add additional nights for $99 per night (not available for Friday or Saturday nights in September and October).

The resort's new full-service spa opened this summer and features a 25-yard indoor lap pool, outdoor hot tub, a fitness center and movement studio, 11 treatment rooms, a salon, and relaxation lounges with a sauna and steam room.
